Regarding this: http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/government-joins-sponsors-dumping-sandilands-20111124-1nwyi.html
Yes, KyleS is a moron. And I have no issue with commercial sponsors pulling advertising. But I do have an issue with the government pulling advertising. In some countries, where government advertising budgets are large, the pulling of advertising is a form of pressure on the media. This vitiates media's ability to criticise government. The government should not be allowed to remove advertising for any reason other than demographics/target-audience/end-of-campaign.
There is a thin line between hating a person justificably because he is Kyle Sandilands, and hating someone because you hate what they say. For our freedom of speech, I would tolerate a moron like Kyle being on air as the price of not having the government pressure other broadcasters.
Listening to morons is the price of freedom.
